THE PRACTICE

Physician Consultants is an independent medical consulting practice built to serve organizations that require expert clinical insight — without institutional constraint, without conflicts of interest, and without the limitations of conventional consulting relationships.

We were founded on a specific premise: that the most valuable medical opinion comes from a physician who is still practicing at a high level in their specialty — not from someone who stepped away from clinical work years ago and is relying on accumulated credential rather than current expertise.

Our engagements span legal and litigation support, hospital and health system advisory, industry and product consultation, and medical education. Every engagement is accepted on the merits, managed with discretion, and delivered with the same standard of rigor we apply in clinical practice.

OUR LEAD CONSULTANT

Our principal consultant is Walid Alrayashi, MD, a board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist with subspecialty expertise in regional anesthesia, perioperative medicine, and point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS). Dr. Alrayashi holds an academic faculty appointment at a major medical school and serves as Director of Regional Anesthesiology at a major academic pediatric medical center.

His clinical practice encompasses neonatal and pediatric anesthesia, complex regional anesthesia and nerve block procedures, perioperative safety, and ultrasound-guided techniques. He developed the IDREES technique in regional anesthesia, which is currently used in clinical practice. He has served as a medical consultant and expert witness in pediatric perioperative litigation on both plaintiff and defense sides.

Dr. Alrayashi's academic work includes peer-reviewed publications, an active teaching role at Harvard Medical School, and ongoing clinical research in regional anesthesia and POCUS outcomes.

OUR APPROACH

We take a limited number of engagements at any given time. This is intentional. We do not operate as a high-volume review factory. Every client receives the direct attention of our principal consultant — not a delegated review, not an AI-only output, not a summary from a support staff member.

We are also honest about scope. If a case or engagement falls outside our area of genuine subspecialty depth, we say so. We would rather refer you to someone better suited for your specific situation than provide a mediocre opinion on terrain where we lack the necessary expertise.

This practice was built to be excellent at a narrow set of things — not adequate at everything.
